The Emerald Necklace Conservancy will celebrate Frederick Law Olmsted’s 190th birthday on Sunday, April 29th from 2 to 4 p.m.

Birthday cake will be served! Olmsted was the 19th-century landscape architect who designed the Emerald Necklace around the Muddy River in Boston's Back Bay Fens.

The Muddy River: Start to Finish, a photographic essay by Joseph Flack Weiler, will be exhibited in the Emerald Necklace Visitors Center, 125 The Fenway, Boston (opposite the Museum of Fine Arts).

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy will also be celebrating the start of the $91 million Muddy River Restoration Project. This extensive project will enhance flood control and restore the Emerald Necklace's Muddy River to the way it looked when Olmsted finished his work in 1895.

For more information phone the Emerald Necklace Conservancy at 617-522-2700 or visit www.EmeraldNecklace.org.
